Black Friday: Love It or Hate It?

Black Friday: Do You or Don't You? | Twin Cities Moms Blog

Black Friday used to be a somewhat popular shopping day where people would get up early to shop with family. Early, as in 5am.

Now, Black Friday has become something that seems somewhat out of control. Because Black Friday seems to come earlier and earlier each year, the controversy surrounding it and how far stores are willing to go to be first, really takes the fun out of what used to be a different kind of way to start your Christmas shopping.

A few on our team weigh in:

“I used to love black Friday, until it became black Thursday! When stores didn’t open until Friday, it was a girl’s tradition in our family that we would wake up early and hit the stores. We had a great time and considered it more of a girls shopping trip with the added bonus of some amazing deals smile emoticon Now that a lot of stores open on Thursday, I am just not willing to loose that Thanksgiving time with family to go and try to get the door busters. I might sneak online though to get a few deals.” – Jenny

“I hates it all. I’ve never been but I imagine a wild anxiety attack or me punching someone. Likely both.” – Lauren

“What Lauren said ^^.” – Melissa

“Back in the good ol’ days” it was truly FRIDAY! Before kids, we used to go just for the people/cart watching.” – Kim

“This is what my family will be doing: #OptOutside.” – Tiffany

“I don’t hate it, but we’ve never done the crazy, early  morning outing, but have gone out later in the morning. There’s still plenty of deals to be had at 11am and we don’t have to wake up at the crack of dawn and fight crowds.” – Beth

So, what do YOU think? Did you head out early today, or even last night on Thanksgiving night?
