#SpeakBeautiful

Self Esteem. If you are a woman, you know all about it. If you have kids, boys or girls, you know this is an issue that isn’t going away. The message we all hope to send to our kids and our friends is that you are beautiful, no matter what you look like. We all know that our words, our actions and yes, even our social posts, make a difference in the way that others see themselves and how they think we see our own self-image.  As with many things, the most powerful changes come when we start with ourselves.

Our recent campaign #ThisisMYMomBod, showing the beautiful differences in all of our Mom Bodies speaks to this – we need to all Speak Beautiful about our bodies and we love how Dove supports that. Have you ever noticed that the more you say something, the more real it feels and eventually, you might actually believe it? Even if body image is a tough one for you, we encourage you to #SpeakBeautiful.

Research done by Dove shows that 8 out of 10 women encounter negative comments on social media that critique women’s looks. Not surprising, but so disheartening. We would love to see you help us support this #SpeakBeautiful campaign and show us YOUR beauty on Instagram! Tag us in the photo (@twincitiesmomsblog) and use #SpeakBeautiful to help support this idea – that the more positive we all are about our own body image, the more positive things look for our kids, and that’s something we can all get behind.

To remind women to #SpeakBeautiful, Target will have an exclusive in-store offer to receive FREE #SpeakBeautiful reminder decals to place on your phone, computer or tablet when you buy 2 Dove products at Target. This easy reminder can help us all remind ourselves to #SpeakBeautiful on social media. Offer valid until 10/31/15, while supplies last.
