We hear the first sizable snow fall of the season is coming Monday evening into Tuesday, potentially up to 10 inches. What’s nice about the timing is there’s no concern about missing school, late starts, etc., just the mess of the morning commute. Maybe you’re home from work over the holidays, or your home with more kids than usual as they take their break. Whatever the case, we want to be sure you have a few resources to keep you all entertained – there are plenty of Twin Cities indoor activities – here’s where to find them.
First thing’s first – we’re Minnesotan’s and plenty of you won’t let snow in amounts less than a foot slow you down, so if you decide to venture out, check out our Indoor Play Area Guide – there is plenty to do around the Twin Cities over the colder months, so don’t miss out! From mall play areas, to museums, indoor playgrounds and more, you’ll have plenty to keep you busy.
For more out-of-the-house activities, check out these 10 Twin Cities Winter Activities for Little Ones. A couple years ago when it seemed school was canceled every other day throughout January, this list came in so very handy. Check out this list of activities you can do with little ones – some are out of the box and might be just what you need to change up your winter routine.
There’s always sledding, making snow forts, and generally, all of that winter fun your kids look forward to once the cold temps hit, but how about if you’d rather not go through the 30 minute song and dance of putting all that gear on? Take a peek at our Indoor Activity Pinterest Board for a ton of ideas to make being stuck at home more fun.
Move family game night to the afternoon, do a science experiment, make pancakes at 3pm, join one of our Neighborhood Groups or Community Groups for a chance to get connected to moms in your neighborhood, or maybe even meet your MBFF. In the end, the kids being bored isn’t always the worst thing in the world – it’s great for character building. And if their character building starts to drive you crazy, plan your next moms’ night out.
