Let me paint a picture.  You may even see yourselves in this same scenario…some far, distant, foggy, dusty file cabinet of your mind.

It was probably 1 in the morning or so.  I was up for a middle-of-the-night feeding with my infant son and was frantically searching online for a new baby gate…for BOTH of my kids. My kids are roughly 19 months apart and in between when they were born, I had started a website that would eventually lead me to owning Twin Cities Mom Collective and Rochester Local.

In a truly entrepreneurial move, shortly after my son was born I decided to go all in on my website and I quit my job to work full-time with my infant and toddler.  We had a very large open bonus room with vaulted ceilings at the back of our house that housed cozy seating, and the toddler’s toys. It was sunny, warm, and the perfect place for a new mom to work while simultaneously keeping a baby happy and a toddler busy. Enter THAT DAY. The day my son learned to crawl and my daughter learned to tear through the baby gate I had…the one separating us from the REST of the house. That gate was my lifeline.  It kept me working, them safe, and us on the path to figuring out what this self-employed madhouse looks like.

Hence the 1 AM frantic search for a new baby gate.  I stumbled across a beautiful gate that was an adjustable, walk-through safety gate with a child-proof locking mechanism at the top. Bonus, it did not look like it was made out of Lincoln logs.  I clicked Buy Now immediately. The gate was installed the minute it arrived (easily too) and if it didn’t irritate my kids and bring me peace of mind!

What I didn’t know then was that this was my introduction to Regalo, a Minnesota-based company (it was meant to be). We utilized many Regalo baby gates in various areas of our house over the years while our kids were growing up. They were so well made and *so* simple to use (turns out simplicity is a core value of the company!).  My friends would come over and everyone would always need to know where these gates were from (available at Target and on Amazon!) and who made them.  Then, when the kids transitioned out of their beds, we naturally purchased the hide-away bed rails and bumpers.

Just when we thought we were out of the baby gate years, we decided our family wasn’t quite complete and we got a puppy.  We had purchased a new home at that point and the kitchen area (hello puppy-training) had a few entrance points.  We needed to keep her in so of course we bought two more Regalo baby gates.  Ah yes.  I can’t say that a wave of nostalgia didn’t sweep over me when I used that walk-through gate and locking mechanism after so long!  And right when we passed our gates along to friends who were having a baby, we lost our minds and decided to get one more puppy…and two more Regalo gates.

Twin Cities Mom Collective loves a hometown hero story, and Regalo truly takes the cake.  This company is a family-owned business based in Burnsville, MN. They strive to put safety, quality, and affordability at the forefront of every product decision they make. I love the thought of this family sitting around their conference table (talking very calmly in low voices—you know, how families do) about the usability features of a baby gate. Thinking about tired parents and caregivers stumbling through dark hallways, trying to fumble open a gate. With how easy it is to operate these gates and bedrails…I have to believe these conversations are meaningful and that they *truly* get it.

What sets Regalo apart is that they are industry leaders in safety gates and bed rails.  This perfectly positions them for launching new products in other categories.

This thrills me because I love to be in the know about all the things.  I’m past the baby stage, but I still want to be able to give great gifts to my friends who are in their baby years.  I was excited to find out that Regalo has new products in bath, feeding, and play. Keep reading for the best part!

Our daughter is about to turn 1 and I’m about to be a mom of 2 under 2 (pregnant with our second). I’m excited to win the baby gate because my 1st born is now learning to crawl and soon walk and keeps on getting into things she shouldn’t touch.
