This guide is written in partnership with Bachman’s

Bachman’s is a beloved Twin Cities Floral, Home and Garden Center. Well known for its stunning floral arrangements, locally-owned and locally-grown nursery, and maybe most recognizable of all — its iconic purple branding. Who hasn’t had their heart skip a beat when presented with a bouquet wrapped in beautiful purple paper?
Bachman’s Twin Cities roots reach back to 1885 when founder Henry Bachman, Sr., planted potatoes, lettuce, onions, and squash on a plot of land in south Minneapolis, where the Bachman’s headquarters and flagship store are still located today. Bachman’s has grown through several generations to become one of the largest traditional floral and nursery operations in the world.
But what you might not know is that Bachman’s offers so much more! In addition to its impressive and vast Garden Center, Nursery, and florals, Bachman’s also has home goods, decor, gifts, clothing, workshops and seminars, a coffee shop and bakery, special events, and more.
Read on for details about how Bachman’s can inspire and enrich your everyday life!

For Mom
We love Bachman’s for a great place to stop for a quick break when we’re on the go. We can always count on finding something new in the shop, being inspired by the home decor, finding a new house plant for our collection, or meeting a friend for a coffee. Here are just a few ideas for ways that Bachman’s can be a great place for you to take a break, meet a friend, chat with your group, or just get your fix of plant goodness!
Patrick’s French Bakery & Cafe
In 2003, a conversation between a Bachman’s sales consultant and the wife of the chef and owner of Patrick’s French Bakery & Cafe led to a plan set in motion to open a new Patrick’s location at the Bachman’s Lyndale location in 2004.
Patrick’s specializes in beautiful pastries, delicious sandwiches, and artisan breads. Their location within the Bachman’s on Lyndale is the perfect spot to chat with a friend over coffee (and a cookie or pastry!), meet your book club or group, or simply sit at the bistro tables among the plants in the garden center.
Get Your Greens
It’s inevitable — we’re heading into the colder months and that means we’ll be saying goodbye to green grass and foliage. If you are simply in need of a fix of plant life, warmth, and chlorophyll, make Bachman’s part of your regular stop as you run your errands. With locations in Eden Prairie, Maplewood, Fridley, Plymouth, Minneapolis, Apple Valley, and Lakeville, there is a location near you.
One Stop Shop
We love an efficient trip. And when we can combine our errands when out of the house, we feel on top of the world. Bachman’s is one of those places for us — home decor, gifts, garden and landscaping needs, cards, teacher gifts, hostess gifts, entertaining essentials, and more.
House Plant Happy Hour | October 12th, 4 – 6 PM — $10
Join Bachman’s on Lyndale Avenue for Houseplant Happy Hour! Whether you’re an experienced plant parent or just getting your hands dirty for the first time, this is your chance to make your living space come alive.
You’re invited to join the conversation with guest host Shayla Owodunni of The Plant Penthouse as she shares her plant wish list and helps you find what plants fit best in your space. Bachman’s horticulturist Heather Johnson will host a seminar on plant parenting, and there will be a demonstration on how to make pumpkin succulents from Connie Milan. Plus, enjoy light bites from Patrick’s Cafe and live music from the Waxwing String Band. Explore your personal style with houseplants and pick up a few new favorite plant friends to style your home! This is a ticketed event.
