From March 24 to April 7, 2024, the Galleria Shopping Center in Edina, Minnesota, will transform into a mesmerizing underwater world with the “Into the Deep” Floral Experience, presented in collaboration with Bachman’s. This immersive event promises a captivating journey through sea-inspired floral displays and breathtaking installations that will awaken your senses and ignite your imagination.
At the heart of this enchanting experience are over 100 different types of flowers, trees, and plants meticulously curated to create an awe-inspiring spectacle. Among these botanical wonders are more than 3,000 bulbs specially coaxed into early blooming by Bachman’s experts, adding a touch of magic to the event. These bulbs, carefully nurtured in Bachman’s greenhouses located just south of the Twin Cities, start their journey seven weeks prior to the show, covering a distance of 4,166 miles from Holland to Minneapolis. ensuring a vibrant and lush display for visitors to enjoy.
The Floral Experience boasts more than 20 blooming displays and vignettes scattered throughout Galleria, each meticulously crafted by a team of over 20 garden designers, installers, and expert horticulturalists from Bachman’s. Five semi-trucks transported the elements of this floral wonderland from Bachman’s indoor growing facilities to the Galleria. Additionally, plants and blooms from Florida, California, Ohio, and South America are imported to enhance the diversity and richness of the displays.
As you explore the Floral Experience, you’ll encounter enchanting sights such as a fantastical octopus with arms up to 10 feet long, floating jellyfish ranging from 8 to 13 feet tall, and a larger-than-life oyster shell adorned with an illuminated pearl. Other highlights include spectacularly tall seahorses, a captivating “claw-some” garden, and over 50 coral-like sculptures crafted from sumac branches harvested from Bachman’s nursery.
Amidst this sea of flora and creativity, visitors can glean valuable gardening tips from Bachman’s experts. Best of all, admission to the “Into the Deep” Floral Experience is free for all Galleria visitors during regular operating hours. Mobile watering carts will ensure the florals remain fresh, and overnight maintenance will keep the experience vibrant throughout its 15-day run.
