So how is it developing so far?
Your story, that is.
Oh yes you do; have one, I mean.
What I really mean is that you ARE one.
You might think you’re a plain average person
whose life no one is paying attention to, not even yourself.
That is SO not true.
So maybe you should start paying attention, because otherpeople are.
First, you are a story because you have one.
Who you are, what’s happened to you so far,
things you’ve done, happy or sad, shameful or triumphant.
You say your story is full of bad, dark times.
That’s good. You have that to share and what you’ve learned from it.
You say your story would depress anyone you told it to.
That’s good, someone has encouragement and help for you.
Take a look around you, no matter where you’re reading this.
How many people are in your intimate circle of family,
friends, and acquaintances?
Your story touches theirs (Yes, they are a story too).
Theirs touches another circle, and on it goes.
You are a part of the ripple effect.
Without you, their stories wouldn’t be complete.
They’d have holes in them, something missing,
some meaning. Who you are combines with everything
they are, to make the story.
Also, who you are at this time is not that same as who
you were yesterday, three weeks ago, even years ago.
Your story is constantly changing as you are impacted by the
stories of others and how you impact them.
People come and go, ebb and flow, so to speak.
The people in your intimate circle are constantly changing too
and so does their impact on you.
Confused?
Don’t be.
Every life touches every other life in the entire world.
Therefore, there are no average, ordinary, people.
There are influential, unique, extraordinary
people who are poured into the lives of others who are
influential, unique, and extraordinary.
Check out your story. Check out YOU.
They’re one in the same.
Au Revoir,
Mary
