Your Guide to Spring Break in the Twin Cities 2022

It’s March and the kids are off for a full week! You’re either celebrating or pulling your hair out. We got you, mama! Our list of Spring Break activities will get you inspired to enjoy some family fun with your little ones and explore the Twin Cities! This is the perfect time of year to visit local museums, the Minnesota Zoo or even a simple trip to the park. Feeling brave? How about a trip to Nickelodeon Universe?

Visit your local library | Check out this list of public libraries and find one near you! Many libraries are offering story time events during spring break – so find yours and make a day of it!

Putt-Putt at Can Can Wonderland | Check out this amazing arts-immersive mini golf experience your whole family is sure to enjoy!

Try a Free First Saturday at the Walker Art Museum | Free First Saturdays feature free gallery admission on the first Saturday of every month, plus performances, games, art-making, and kids’ films from 10 am to 3 pm. Family friendly food options are available or bring something from home to snack on in the lounge or in the garden.

Visit the Minnesota History Center | Explore Minnesota’s past through exhibits that feature authentic historical objects, hands-on experiences, and multimedia presentations. Kids 4 and under get in free!

Thomas & Friends @ Minnesota Children’s Museum | The world’s most beloved blue engine is rolling into St. Paul! Inspired by the popular children’s series and featuring beloved engines and destinations from Thomas & Friends™, this interactive exhibit engages children and families in foundational skills that foster STEM literacy through playful learning experiences. Included with the price of admission. $12.95 per person.

Bundle up and visit the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden | It’s open 365 days a year and is totally FREE! The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is a great place to walk around outdoors with your kids and take in the sites. Snap your photo by the famous Spoonbridge and Cherry!

Go to a cheap movie at the Riverview Theater | Matinee movies shown before 6pm and children under 11 yrs. old cost only $5 a ticket here! Grab a snack, find your favorite film, and enjoy this historic theater.

St. Paul Chamber Orchestra Free Family Music | Featuring the musicians of the SPCO, these programs are specifically geared for our youngest listeners. With the help of narrators, stories and themes, classical music is brought to life in exciting, toe-tapping ways. Tickets are free, but reservations are required.

Grand Slam Family Fun Center {Coon Rapids} | You and your family can enjoy everything from laser tag and arcade games to bumper cars and batting cages! Daily specials are offered. Pay per attraction, each costs around $2-$7.

Urban Air Adventure Park | Urban Air is open extended hours (March 14th – 18th) to help you have the best Spring Break ever!  You can pre-purchase online or at the front desk.

Spring Break Academy at Topgolf | Spring Academy is three days of non-stop entertainment and learning that kids will love. This program includes all of the components that make up the great game of golf. From chipping, putting and full swing, to the rules and etiquette, kids will learn everything they need to know to improve their game.

Lookout Ridge Indoor Playground {Woodbury} | A themed, life-like design and sound effects accompany slides, forests, a tree house, and even a cave. Kids are able to climb inside cliffs imitating the St. Croix River Valley, then zoom down a mountain spiral slide emerging from a cave. Children also can venture to the top of the tree house, cross over to the gigantic fallen tree, and race down a 30-foot superslide!

Shoreview Community Center | This place has it all from an indoor playground to a waterpark!

Tamarack Nature Center | Discover the value of nature through play, exploration, service and inquiry by exploring the Tamarack Nature Center! Enjoy the outdoor Discovery Hollow Nature Play Area for free or enjoy several paid classes.

InnerActive | Located in Mounds View, your kids can enjoy a basketball court, jumping pillow, indoor playground, soccer fields, and more! $11.25 a child ages 1 and up.

Spring Break Camp @ The Works Museum | Summer and school break STEM camps for kids at The Works Museum are ideal for Minnesota girls and boys ages 5-12 who love to explore, discover, design, and build. In these STEM camps, children explore engineering, science, technology, and math in a kid-centered way. Their expert educators encourage exploration and work with each child to make his or her experience engaging and fun.

Slime Break @ Nickelodeon Universe | Plan your spring break get away at Nickelodeon Universe, Mall of America where it’s always 72 degrees and sunny. Explore 27 rides and attractions for all ages, meet your favorite Nickelodeon characters and make Slime with them on select weekends. Spring Break Camp @ Dodge Nature Center | Spend spring break outdoors. The weather might be unpredictable, but the forecast shows a 100% chance of fun! Camps offered March 28 – 31st for grades K-8.

Good Times Park | As Minnesota’s largest, family-owned, entirely indoor playground & family recreational park, it is a great place for family fun & fitness any time. Shoes/socks are required! $10.25 per child.

Adventure Peak @ Edinborough Park | Adventure awaits at Minnesota’s largest indoor play park featuring the appropriately named Adventure Peak! There is no shortage of smiles at this happy place where families are encouraged to climb, slide and play together. It’s a great place to exercise, too; the park has an indoor pool, walking track and fitness area. $9 per child.

Rockin’ Jump Family Flight Night | Join them from 4 – 7 pm every Sunday at Rockin’ Jump Trampoline Park Eagan for family fun, when one hour of jump time is only $40 for up to 5 immediate family members.

Tuck Everlasting @ Stages Theatre Company | From March 4-20, take your kids to see Tuck Everlasting! This TYA version of the popular Broadway musical adaptation of Natalie Babbitt’s classic novel graces their main stage with live music. For ages 7 and up.

Try an Art Mini-Camp at KidCreate Studio {Eden Prairie} | Hey kids, do you love to get messy? Then this is the art camp for you! They’ll use clay, papier mache, paint and more simply sloppy supplies to make projects your mom would never let you do at home! They’ll become masters at making a mess, learn some pretty cool stuff – and have lots of fun while doing it! Making a mess is the best! Visit the Arboretum | The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum specializes in helping kids literally “dig in” to plants through science and engaging hands-on programs and activities.
