We’re looking for a couple of outgoing, self-motivated people to help us build out a few new platforms on our site, as well as help to build our social media.  We’d especially love to connect with people who identify with our mission and see the value in connecting moms, providing resources to them and growing this community.

 



Intern Opportunity-8

We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Intern!  This is a 1-6 month+ assignment. The opportunity requires 5+ hours of volunteer time a week and must be available for weekly check-ins. We are looking for an intern to assist with our social media marketing efforts. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow your skills in social media marketing. This is an unpaid position.

The intern is expected to have experience with social media on at least a personal level (use on a business level is a bonus!). You must be able to think strategically and see how social media fits into long-lasting relationships and providing value to them. The main focus would be building out our Pinterest account as a marketing tool, but we are looking for someone with knowledge, ability and desire to work on all platforms.

Our hope is that we can combine our passions with those of our social media intern’s for a shared purpose and benefit. The social media intern will acquire professional experience that will kickstart her career goals and we will, in turn, provide resources that will aid in project tasks.

Required Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Upload pictures, links and website content

  • Finding users to follow/friend/like us on our platforms

  • Track the growth of the accounts on platforms

  • Report findings to the co-founders

  • Consistently learn and grow, ask pertinent questions

  • Ability to create graphics in basic programs, with training

Skills & Background Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills

  • Be creative with an eye for design

  • Ability to learn digital media software quickly (graphic design websites)

  • Knowledge of social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Blogs, etc.

Desired Qualities:

  • Energy, willingness to learn and grow

  • Passion for Twin Cities moms and making information easily accessible to them.

  • Experience in proofreading and editing

Intern Opportunity-7

Do you want to make a difference in your community and help bring new resources to the moms of the Twin Cities? Would you like to add great experience to your resume?  We are looking to add an individual who shares our passion in using technology to bring information to moms, and enhance our community.  We are looking for an intern to assist in building out two new platforms on our site. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow your skills not only in WordPress, but also in networking. This individual should have a deep understanding of WordPress and how to work with plug-ins within the platform.

This is a 3-6 month+ assignment. The opportunity requires 10+ hours of volunteer time a week and must be available for weekly check-ins. This internship is unpaid with potential opportunity for commission based earnings.

Required Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with Co-Founders and community businesses

  • Build out new platforms with Co-Founders

  • Custom theme development

Skills/Background Requirements:

  • Expertise with WordPress and plug-ins

  • Self-motivated, passion for creativity, task focused

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills

  • Basic knowledge of social media: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.

  • Energy, willingness to learn and grow

  • Experience in proofreading and editing

Desired Qualities:

  • A passion for the Twin Cities community and enhancing accessibility to resources
  • Sales experience/networking ability a bonus
