Storytimes are the perfect rain-or-shine activity that kids and their grownups will love. In addition to fun, interactive stories, most storytimes feature songs, rhymes, and movement to keep little minds and bodies engaged. We know that life with littles can be unpredictable, so as an added bonus, all of the story times on this list are FREE and DO NOT require sign-up! Additionally, most public libraries offer storytimes. We’ve included several below, but if your local library isn’t listed, be sure to check their website and event calendar.

Located in Linden Hills near Lake Harriet, this storytime is geared toward toddlers and preschoolers, but open to all. Join them each week to read stories, sing songs, dance, and enjoy this imaginative space. Kids will love seeing the store’s lovable pets: the cats (Booker T. and Eartha Kitt) roam throughout the store, birds chirp and talk to each other, and chinchillas run, nibble, and snuggle.
