I remember feeling so excited right before my son was about to start eating solids. I couldn’t wait to start offering him ALLTHEFOODS. At first it was simple, but I quickly learned that feeding my baby solids wasn’t as intuitive as I would have thought. It required some effort to think about the timing of meals and planning ahead to make sure he was getting a nutritious, balanced meal. Now with my second, I often find myself standing in the kitchen thinking What am I going to feed the kids? I know I’m not the only one that feels this way.
Your baby/toddler should (for the most part) be eating the same foods as the rest of the family. Now let’s be real, it doesn’t always work out that way. So, if you are stuck in a food rut or looking for inspiration, I’ve put together a round up of toddler meals. This list is geared towards toddlers, but the beauty of this is that the whole family can enjoy these foods.
Breakfasts
- Oatmeal (cooked in water or milk) mixed with plain yogurt, strawberries
- Waffles with almond butter, banana slices
- Banana Sushi
- Scrambled eggs with cheese, diced fresh peaches
- Banana Molasses oatmeal
- Plain yogurt topped with diced blueberries, cheerios
- Mini pancakes
- Toast topped with mashed avocado cut into small pieces, diced hard boiled egg
- Blend and pour banana pancake
- Green Toddler Smoothie
Lunches
- Cheese quesadilla served with black beans, diced avocado and tomato
- Zucchini Pizza Bites
- Turkey, cheese cubes, sliced cucumbers, hummus and crackers
- Chicken and Apple Patties, applesauce, steamed carrots
- Mac and cheese mixed with peas and broccoli, apple slices
- Mini pizza quinoa bites
- Peanut butter and jelly sandwich, yogurt and grapes
- Turkey and Cheese crescent rolls
- Grilled cheese, red pepper slices, orange slices
- English muffin pizza, grapes, sugar snap peas
- Ham and cheese omelette, grape tomatoes, blueberries
- Parmesan Zucchini Tots, diced peaches
Dinners
- Crock pot pulled pork, green beans, corn
