  1. Bonfire

If you have a fire pit in your back yard, now is the perfect time to set up a bonfire. Cuddle up by the fire and make some s’mores for a romantic night in the yard.

  1. Wine/Beer Tasting

Who says you need to go out to taste special wines or beers? Create your own tasting by picking out some different wine or beer that you’ve always wanted to try.

  1. Dinner Outside

Once you put the kids to bed, a romantic way to end the night is to have dinner together outside under the stars. Order takeout from your favorite restaurant and plate it as if you cooked it yourself.

  1. Paint and Sip

Many of us have been to paint and sip parties where you bring your own wine and paint a nice picture, but now you can do this at home! You can purchase at-home paint party kits almost anywhere online. All you’ll need to do is set the ambience with nice music, wine and a few snacks and you and your significant other will have an amazing time.

  1. Game Night

Bring out your classic board games for a fun night in. I love bringing out my favorite games from childhood to reminisce on good memories and make new ones.

  1. Couples Yoga

After those crazy stressful days, yoga can be a great way to relax. Couples yoga is also a great way to connect with your spouse if you both want to wind down for the day. Yoga with Adriene has great beginner friendly yoga videos that would make for a great date night.

  1. Classic Movie Night

You can never go wrong with your classic Netflix and Chill date night. I always love to grab movie-style popcorn and boxes of candy to really make it feel like I’m at an actual movie theater.

  1. Lawn Games

I love to play lawn games in the summer to bring out the competitiveness between me and my husband. Playing games in your backyard like corn hole, ring toss, or life size Jenga is always fun.

  1. At Home Campout

Grab a sleeping bag, flashlight and pitch a tent in your backyard for an at home campout. Make it even more romantic by having a phone-free campout. This will help you unplug from the world and really connect with our partner. If you aren’t a fan of sleeping outdoors, you can also do this in your living room.

  1. Destination Theme Night

After the year we’ve had, I’m sure many of us want to get away. If you want to feel like you’ve traveled somewhere but don’t want to buy the plane ticket, you can have a travel theme night. Plan a night where your food and ambiance are inspired by a place you’d like to visit.

If you want to get a little more creative, you can create a date night jar. You and your spouse can come up with some date night ideas and put them in a jar. At the beginning of the week, take turns pulling out an idea from the jar. This can help build up excitement date night.
