Recently I met up with a few friends for a casual day of perusing some of our very favorite north Minneapolis boutiques. What we didn’t know was we had found ourselves shopping at the just right time of the year. At our first stop, the Foundry Home Goods, we learned why.
The store manager greeted us as we walked into their store. “Sorry about the mess! We’re restocking after the rush of the holiday season.” We looked around at the clean lines, artfully curated collections, and bright open space with confusion. This is messy? Clearly, this person does not live with children.
A similar refrain came from the shop owner of Statement Boutique in the North loop. “We’re making room for the next season’s inventory so nearly everything is on sale.” Not one of us walked out with our hands empty. We couldn’t believe our luck! What started as a simple day of window shopping turned into a very successful opportunity to take advantage of great seasonal deals.
