Non-Toxic Household Cleaner

Non-Toxic Household Cleaner | Twin Cities Moms Blog

I’ve been putting off sharing this recipe with you guys for so long.  Mainly because I felt silly sharing it.  It’s so basic and simple and I felt there was a chance you already have a product you love for cleaning.  But also because I was fairly confident that there is no other human being on the face of the earth that needs to clean their floors as often as I do.

But I need to tell you something.

I have hope.  Hope that there is just one little itty bitty other woman out there in my shoes.  One mama whose 1 year old eats so obnoxiously messy that sitting on the floor below him during a meal would offer you enough nourishment to live at least 4 years.  One who walks around in her kitchen with socks, but needs to take her socks off before she enters another room because those socks are so caked full of mashed up dinner and she doesn’t want to spread it all over the house.  One who asks herself how has my life come to this as she is on her  hands and knees on the floor wiping up that ridiculous mess SEVERAL times a day.  First world problems?  Indeed.  But with a quick floor wipe down with this non-toxic cleaner I am swept off to a far away land, forgetting about the fact that the next meal clean up is only a couple hours away.  Laying on a beach.  Cocktail in hand.  Book resting on my stomach as I nap the day away.  Actually, thats the farthest thing from the truth ever… but this cleaner is pretty stinking awesome.

I received this recipe from an ECFE educator a couple years ago and it’s something I always have made and on hand.  It’s my absolutely number one go-to for cleaning our wood floors; it doesn’t leave a sticky film finish, it shines them up wonderfully and there’s no harsh chemicals floating around our house and sinking into the floors.  It’s insane how cost effective it is, too.  Compare this to your average store bought cleaner… it’s a no-brainer!  So, please… please, friends, tell me that there is another mama out there who feels me?
