I am a Twin Cities Mom: Shayla Hurt

Today’s I am a Twin Cities Mom feature is all about Shayla Hurt!

“I am married to my high school sweet heart and we are parents to our sweet little Coleson, who will be 2!! We love spending time at the lakes, traveling and being with family! Passionate about helping others as I work in healthcare. Love working out and drinking coffee and consider myself a foodie.”

I am a Twin Cities Mom: Shayla Hurt | Twin Cities Mom CollectiveWhat do you love about calling the Twin Cities home?

I grew up in Eden Prairie and we spend most of our time in Minnesota. It is just a stunning state and I’m proud to be from the area!

If we peeked in your purse right now, what would we find?

Car keys, wallet, MAC lip stick and two hair ties.

How do you prioritize friendships and connections with other women?

Connecting with other women is so important to me, especially making the little effort of reaching out or setting up girls night.

Being a mom is no easy task. How do you relax and take care of you?

I work out, run and bike, and every once in a while you’ll find me having enough time to read a book.

What’s been your greatest joy in motherhood?

Watching my little guy enjoy and experience some of the things I have loved as a kid or even now as an adult.

What have you found most challenging in your motherhood journey?

Time and feeling like it goes too fast.

How do you hope your life influences and/or inspires other women?

By sharing our raw moments and hopefully helping other women to know that life isn’t always perfect and you don’t have to wait for it to be perfect but you can still do so many things.

Twin Cities Favorites

Date Night Restaurant: 58 Club – Hands down the best burgers and the environment is so cool.

Best place to hang out and have some fun: If not a the mall, we love checking out new breweries or finding a farmers market.

Local Boutique: Primp Boutique

Local Coffee Shop: Fairgrounds Coffee

Locally based online business: So many good businesses, but I love Evereve (although they have several stores, their website is great) and Baby on Grand is another one I love.

You can find and follow Shayla on her website and on Instagram @mindovermidwest.
