I Am a Twin Cities Mom: Pavlina Rice

Today’s I am a Twin Cities Mom feature is all about Pavlina Rice!

Hi! I am a UX Designer, but LOVE connecting with other moms on Instagram. This platform has been my creative outlet and I am so thankful for all the connections I have made. Let me tell you, mommin’ is hard and you are freaking ROCKING it! Now, give yourself some grace, don’t be hard on yourself and make sure to take care of YOU too 😘 It can be a bath, quiet 15 minutes with a cup of coffee or tea, a little workout, or getting yourself something nice, because you deserve it!”

What do you love about calling the Twin Cities home?

Although neither me, nor my husband are originally from MN, we love all the things this area has to offer – the lakes, parks, hiking, biking trails… not to mention the job market, the people, the shopping… We are lucky to call the Twin Cities home.

If we peeked in your purse right now, what would we find?

Lipsticks, phone charger, lip balms, wallet, sunglasses, masks, sanitizing wipes… Now that’s my purse, you wouldn’t want to see my diaper bag. 🙈

How do you prioritize friendships and connections with other women?

I literally schedule the phone calls with my girlfriends. We are all busy and it is easy to forget. If it is on the calendar, it is going to happen.

Being a mom is no easy task. How do you relax and take care of you?

I try to do some form of exercise every day, even if it is just 20-30 minutes, I meditate, which helps to clear my mind and keeps me centered and I started taking baths, which I absolutely love!

What’s been your greatest joy in motherhood?

Oh, there are so many! My biggest joy is to see my daughter happy, to make her laugh and laugh with her, to be there for her. Motherhood is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

What have you found most challenging in your motherhood journey?

Balancing the time between my daughter, work, my husband and myself. I am always juggling things and multitasking.

How do you hope your life influences and/or inspires other women?

I want to spread joy by being positive, encouraging and supportive of other women, especially moms. We are all in this together and should support one another. I don’t want anyone to feel alone and believe we can all relate to each other in so many ways.
