Glamorama 2014-Guess Who?

Glamorama | Twin Cities Moms Blog

Well, slap my face and give me a high five! Good things happen when you least expect it!

 Last week I was bopping down the highway and I opened an email from someone I least expected.  The media relations manager for Macy’s kindly dropped an email in my inbox.

{I know, I know, you shouldn’t even touch your phone while driving.  Does it help that my kids weren’t in the car and I called someone to read me the email?}

I was awarded {graced, gifted, paid, compensated, granted, assigned, honored, donated…should I stop now?} a ticket to, wait for it, GLAMORAMA!  If you don’t know what that is, I am here to tell you!

If I ever had a wish it was to attend Glamorama or be an E! spokesperson.  Ahem.  Anyhow, it’s on my bucket list, well, I don’t really have a bucket list,

but I am thinking I should start one now just so I could cross this one off!

No lie, I have been wanting to attend Glamorama for at least 15 years.  I’m totally aging myself, but it’s been going on for over 31 years people…they are doing things right!

They offer it in a few cities, one of them being Minneapolis.  It’s held at the State Theatre in Minneapolis.  There will be a red carpet and then the fashion show begins!  This year they are featuring brands like Diesel, INC, Weekend by MaxMara, Hello Kitty, and Calvin Klein.  Not only do I get to watch the models strut their stuff, but Jason DeRulo and Before You Exit are performing!

{Yowza’s…that pic!}

….maybe this is more appropriate for the audience…This is “Before You Exit.”

I am particularly excited about Jason DeRulo because I have admitted to many already that when he sings “Talk Dirty,” I literally dance in the seat of my mini-van.  I really try not to play that song in front of my kiddos, but it sure has a beat and I will finally be able to shake it with no shame!  After the fashion show there is an after-party on Macy’s 8th Floor featuring food and drink from Michelle Bernstein on Macy’s Culinary Council.  That reads adult food and adult drink.  No kids/toddlers/rug-rats allowed.  Yup, a girl needs that every once in awhile.

Most importantly, the money from ticket sales supports Children’s Cancer Research Fund.  Doesn’t that make you wanna grab your hot hubby or bestie and hit the town?

Tickets are still available here. Now.get.some. {Or make a nice donation.}

So.  Ready for the dilemma?

What is a girl to wear?  The theme is Rock Star.  I used to be a Rock Star, I think I could channel that girl again if necessary.

But, how and when and where?

Macy’s would be an easy place to check out dresses or the like.  I know there are some boutiques I could check out to get the right look for me and

my body.  I just need to make it happen!  Would you help me?  Where do you go when you need to get the perfect dress or outfit?

Any suggestions on what you are liking right now in fashion for the “Rock Star” look?

I’ve started a Pinterest board and will accept pins on

hair/makeup/fashion!

The hair and makeup should be easy and fun, but the outfit is stressing me out a bit!

No matter what, I am excited to go, get out of the house, get some girl time in and attend an event I have only dreamed of.

Next time you hear from me it will be me “reporting from the red carpet……”
