We are excited to announce our next event, Field to Fork Moms Night Out with CommonGround! Take a break from motherhood, grab a girlfriend, and join us for a unique evening of delicious food and drink, all while learning more about the fabulous women farmers in the state of Minnesota.

Thank you to our title sponsor, CommonGround Minnesota, for helping make this event a reality! CommonGround is a group of farm women who wish to share information about farming and food. Volunteers share their personal experiences in agriculture and as farmers, as well as relevant science and research. Thirty-four women volunteer with CommonGround in Minnesota. These ladies come from all types of farming backgrounds: conventional and organic, crops and livestock, produce and more. 

The overall goal of CommonGround is to connect farmers and consumers, and answer FAQ’s about how food is grown and raised. One of the ways they do this is through their Field to Fork dinners, and we are excited to be partnering with them to bring this exclusive Moms Night Out to you, our readers.

The Location

This event will be taking place at Anderson Farms in Welch, MN. The Anderson family has been farming since 1981. Les and his wife, Jeanne, farm about 1,100 acres near Cannon Falls, Minnesota, and they primarily grow corn and soybeans, but also have a handful of goats. Their farm will make a beautiful backdrop for our evening!

The Schedule

5:30-6:30pm- Social Hour. This will include appetizers, wine and beer, live music and a farm tour (optional). Attendees can arrive anytime within the social hour. 

6:30 pm- Dinner. Three-course meal served family style to encourage conversation. All ingredients will feature foods grown in MN. 

7:15 pm- Farmer Q&A over dessert. This is your chance to ask these women farmers any questions you may have as you enjoy a delicious dessert.

8:00 pm- Wrap up.
