Heritage

Jim and Shannon Youngstrom, along with their six kids and their spouses, work together every year to bring the Ice Palace to life! Jim’s great-grandmother made the journey from Norway to the United States, sharing stories of her life that still resonate with the family. With Swedish roots, the Youngstroms are proud to carry on their Scandinavian heritage here in the States. It’s all made possible by an incredible crew of hardworking men and women who team up to make this magical tradition happen!

  • Stunning Ice Sculptures: The way the ice forms in different areas is just magical! As you walk around the ice palace notice the amazing shapes created by Mother Nature!
  • Ice Slide: Kids and adults alike can enjoy a thrilling ride down a giant ice slide made of 100% Ice!
  • Fire Shows: The palace hosts a fire show every hour on the hour starting at 6 pm and ending at 8 pm.
  • Character Meet & Greet: Meet your favorite winter characters! They will be there every evening we are open!
  • Ice Tunnels: Make your way through hundreds of feet of ice tunnels!
  • Special Events: Enjoy special events through the winter season including Valentine’s Day, the Super Bowl, Princess Sparkle Night, and more.
  • Food and Drink Options: Warm your belly with concessions from local food trucks and vendors such as Twin Cities Pita, Doxy’s Donut, The Cocoa Shac,k and more.

VIP Experience

Upgrade your Ice Palace visit with the VIP Experience! Relax in a heated yurt with free hot drinks, snacks, and games, enjoy private character meet-and-greets, fire performer visits, and a personal Ice Palace tour. Plus, snag exclusive vendor discounts and concierge service. The VIP package includes two hours of yurt access, but spots are limited—reserve at least 24 hours in advance! Kids 3 and under are free (with an adult). Don’t wait—make your Ice Palace day extra special!

Ticket Prices

Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the gate, though online purchases are recommended to avoid lines.  NOTE: Tickets are $2 dollars extra if purchased at the door!

  • Adults (ages 12 and up):
    • Weekend: $18
    • Weekday: $23
    • VIP: $49
  • Children (ages 4-11)
    • Weekend: $11
    • Weekday: $15
    • VIP: $25
  • Children under 3: Free
  • Military/Student/Senior
    • Weekday: $15
    • Weekend: $20
  • Family Pass (2 adults and up to 3 children): $50

Hours of Operation

The Ice Palace is open daily from mid-December through late February, weather permitting. Here are the general hours:

  • Thursday – Friday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Saturday – Sunday: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
