BreakAway Kids Triathlon | Elm Creek Park Reserve

The BreakAway Kids Triathlon is part of the BreakAway weekend. The Kids Triathlon (Tri) is located at Elm Creek Park Reserve in Maple Grove on Saturday, August 17. The Kids Tri is a swim, bike and run event, and is open to kids ages 7 and up.

The Kids Tri includes a 500 yard swim in a chlorinated, sand bottom man-made pond that does not have any fish or weeds! There will be lifeguards from Foss Swim School all across the pond. After finishing the swim, racers will lace up their tennis shoes, put on a bike helmet, and  venture out for a 5-mile bike ride on paved trails.  Following the bike, they’ll head into a 1-mile run through the park. This is not just an average 1-mile run however; as you near the finish line you’ll encounter fun obstacles including a giant slip ‘n’ slide and bubble machine. Cross the finish line for an awesome medal and photo op.

Registration is on-line at ymcanorth.org/adventure_lab.  Racer check-in begins at 7:30am, and the race will begin at 9am, with our youngest racers starting first.
