Doctors on Call Right When You Need Them Most – Get the Amwell App!

{We’ve partnered with Amwell for this sponsored post. We love the ease of their services and are happy to recommend their app and services!}

You know the feeling you get when you’re leaving the doctor’s office after getting a much needed answer, but only visiting with the doctor for five minutes or less?  That’s the worst.  You know you have to do the song and dance to get the answer you want or a prescription you need, but having to drag your troop to the doctor when one or more of you is sick is no fun.  I recently got to try the new Amwell app and fell head over heels!  It must have been designed by a busy mom because it is going to be a huge help in the future!

A few weeks ago I spent an hour taking three kids to the doctor, to get a simple answer and had I known about this app then, I’d definitely have used it and saved myself some time and the frustration of an hour trip for those few minutes with the doctor getting the answer I needed.  Sometimes, you’ve already gotten the answer from the nurse on the phone, but need the official “OK” from the doctor to proceed with medicine for yourself or a little one.  I love that this app answers that problem so simply.  The wheels are turning – this is great if you have a little one who has chronic ear infections and hates being at the doctor again, or if you need an answer for yourself and can’t fathom enduring the chaos of dragging all of your littles along with you. Bonus – if you’re at work and you need a quick visit with a doctor, you can get one without using up your precious sick leave or taking the time away from your work day.

One more thing to love is that it’s much more affordable than a regular office visit – Amwell doctors are available 24/7, 365 days a year for just $49 per visit.  If you’ve gotten the bill after a visit like the one I had a few weeks ago, you know that’s a great deal!

Once you’re all set up with the app, you register your basic information and then have access to a list of available doctors in the area that are ready to see patients.  You get a chance to read their bios before choosing a doctor.  Maybe a short little wait (but at home, not in a waiting room!) and then the doctor is right there on your screen.  Explain your symptoms, answer some questions, get an answer and a recommendation. That’s IT!

I love the ease of it, but I find it very comforting that it’s an app with a video conference for the visit.  The fact that, though not in the same room, they would still be looking at my child and literally seeing the symptoms I describe to them means that they can make an accurate diagnosis.  It also means that my sick sweeties can stay cozy in their beds and comfortable while we still get the answers on how to get them back to normal. The next time I’m having that middle of the night panic with a sick kiddo, I’m absolutely using this!

Beyond doctors and pediatricians, you can also access help from dietitians and counselors.  Often the hardest part of getting some help is simply asking, but because they have experts available so quickly and easily, you can get the help you need right away – no need to put it off until tomorrow.

If you’d like to try it yourself, download their app or go online and register. Your first visit is FREE when you use code CITYMOMS at checkout. Use it now to get that burning question answered or save it for one of those time when you’d rather not drag everyone out to the doctor for a quick answer.

And if you do end up needing to make an office appointment, you can look for a provider in your city with the handy Amwell find a doctor page!Doctors on Call for Virtual Visits - Amwell App | Twin Cities Moms Blog
