College Nannies and Tutors {Sponsored Post}

{Disclosure: Twin Cities Moms Blog was offered compensation and the experience in exchange for this post.  We absolutely are thrilled to recommend ths service and love this business!}

Something that has been really important to my husband and I since the day we learned we were going to have a child was time alone.

We do our best to set aside time for just the two of us.

The hardest part? Finding a responsible sitter – one that our kids love. My parents are great at filling in the gaps, but though they love spending time with their grandchildren, they’ve got busy lives too and aren’t always available.

So when we had the opportunity to try out College Nannies & Tutors, we jumped at the chance.

I chatted with Cindy, the general manager, over the phone, and set up a time for her to come out to my home and get a feel for what we’re looking for.

Wow – do they ever go out of their way to find someone that is a perfect fit for your family! Cindy explained their hiring and training process, which is extensive. We went over allergies, family rules, my thoughts on what a great sitter should be… it was pretty detailed!

We were using what they call their On-Call service versus a more permanent nanny service. Typically, you’d let them know your desired time, a pool of sitters is pulled up, and a match is made. Being new to the service, I crossed my fingers and hoped Cindy would find someone great for us.

And boy – did she ever!

Katy was prompt (and she called ahead of time to confirm that she was coming). Right away, my kids connected with her, and she asked them for a tour of the house. She was personable (score!) and the children approved (double score!).

And here’s the added bonus: she cleaned up the kitchen and house!

Not a single pot or pan was left out for me to do afterward, which is an anomaly in my experience with sitters.

Dinner without kids looks prettier, doesn’t it?

While the cost of this service is higher than you’d typically pay an average babysitter, they come highly trained. AND since they’re paid employees of College Nannies & Tutors, you can use your daycare dollar programs through work to set aside tax free money to use.

Something else that impressed me: Katy kept in touch with us – but I loved that she didn’t answer right away. That meant she wasn’t constantly on her phone while my kids were in her care!

I had a great experience using this service. We loved Katy, and would definitely use her again!

***To those of you who attended our West End event, College Nannies and Tutors was one of our sponsors, your swag bag contained a frisbee and a free enrollment into the on-call program and three hours of babysitting, the total value is $200.  Find that card and give them a call today!!
