Eeeeek! I’m so excited about the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train returning this year! Last year was our family’s first time seeing it and it was glorious. Because of our son’s sleeping schedule, we opted for an afternoon show/arrival time rather than an evening one and headed down to Owatonna, despite the train making several stops throughout the Twin Cities area. And it was so much fun! The train slowly pulled up to it’s stop decked out from top to bottom in lights. When the train finally stopped, one of the train cars opened and a band inside started to play. It’s a FREE event, but the purpose behind the train is to help collect food donations for local food shelves, so don’t forget to bring some food to donate!
The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train has become a Christmas tradition for us now. Especially since my son has watched the video of the train arriving about 1,000 times! If you’re hoping to catch the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train this year, click HERE to see their scheduled stops in Minnesota and stay up to date by following them on Facebook! The Minnesota dates start in early December so plan ahead and remember to arrive early so you get a close spot… and bringing hot cocoa doesn’t hurt either.
