6 of Our Favorite Brunch Spots Lately

April Showers bring May flowers. And they also bring all of the May celebrations like Mother’s Day, graduations, and end-of-season gatherings. When gathering with a larger group, I find brunch to be the best time of day to please all ages. It’s far enough away from nap times (grown-ups need naps too!) and usually filled with options to please any taste bud. If you are looking for a place to host your next celebration, consider one of these great brunch spots in the Twin Cities. From classic dishes to surprising new cuisine, your family is sure to find a table to gather around to toast your next celebration.

Brunch at the Kenwood Restaurant is a classic Twin Cities must-do for inventive but approachable food. You’ll feel like you were invited to your classy friend’s house in this cozy and bright neighborhood restaurant. Everyone loves the Huevos Rancheros but I have my eye on the Shrimp and Polenta the next time I visit.

Hope Breakfast Bar | Multiple Locations

For a delicious breakfast that also supports the local community, you must make reservations at Hope Bar. The kids will be happy with their incredible selection of pancakes and waffles while you indulge in the savory options like Pork Belly and Biscuit or Pimento Cheese Scramble. Hope Breakfast Bar donates 3% of all sales to our neighbors in need through their non-profit, Give Hope.

Hola Arepa | 3501 Nicollet Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55408

No matter the season, Hola Arepa always feels like a celebration inside their bright and colorful restaurant. Their fluffy masa cakes make the perfect brunch packed with flavor to wake you up. They also serve rice bowls, small plates, inventive cocktails, and tasty desserts to elevate your celebration.

Tullibee | 300 N Washington Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55401

For that Nordic taste in an upscale trendy location, try Tullibee located in the boutique Hewing Hotel. The decor will wow you before you even order, but the food will live up to the atmosphere. I still dream of those cheese blintzes with lingonberry sauce.

Benedicts | 845 Lake St Wayzata, MN 55391

This modern take on a family diner in the lovely lake town of Wayzata calls themselves your Morning Heroes. They offer a great atmosphere in their bright and cheery space, with food to please anyone. There are benedicts, of course, but they also serve up Elvis’ famous banana peanut butter bacon combo in a pancake. Now that’s a party on a plate!
