Our Title Sponsors

We are proud to have Park Nicollet and HealthPartners as our title sponsors for this event! From pre-conception care through pregnancy, birth and beyond, HealthPartners and Park Nicollet are dedicated to partnering with you. Their compassionate teams recognize this is a special time and will support you, your baby and your choices. Experienced ob/gyn doctors, nurse practitioners and certified-nurse midwives offer different care team options. When it’s time to deliver, their hospital birth centers provide you with a comfortable environment and honor your birth preferences, from water birth to vaginal birth after cesarean. Because they know there are many emotions and new experiences that come along with having a baby, they also have breastfeeding and mental health support for moms. With a new baby, every moment is big. Let’s make good happen, together.

We are so thankful to Breck School for being our host sponsor this year! Breck is a preschool – grade 12, private school where all grades are joined together in one vibrant community on our beautiful campus in Golden Valley, Minnesota. At Breck, each week, each month, each term, each year brings new opportunities to reimagine, reinvent, and reanimate learning — both for it’s students, and for the school. When perpetually learning students encounter this perpetually learning school, they see the very process of learning not just as a prerequisite for success, but the lens through which they view the entire world.

Presenting Sponsors

We are delighted to welcome professionals and experts to lead 5 different breakout sessions throughout the morning and afternoon. Regardless of what stage of motherhood you’re in, there’s always something to ask or something new to learn. We encourage and welcome all questions during these sessions!

Park Nicollet/Health Partners: Jill Lindquist

Off to a Good Start: tips for successful breastfeeding

The decision to breastfeed your baby is a big one. With different opinions and plenty of advice from well-meaning people, you may find confusion and mixed messages. Join Jill Lindquist, Lactation Consultant at Park Nicollet to learn about what you can do to positively impact your breastfeeding success and overall experience.

Jill Lindquist is a board-certified lactation consultant and the author of Your Breastfeeding Coach: The Help You Need for Successful Breastfeeding. She has helped moms and babies with breastfeeding support for over 20 years in hospitals, clinics, homes and over the phone, including at Park Nicollet’s Breastfeeding Center for the past 4 years. Jill is also the Vice President of Breastmilk for Babies, a non-profit organization working to establish a milk bank in Minnesota so that more babies can receive the many natural benefits of breastmilk! She is the mother of three grown children, each of whom started their growing on breastmilk.

Park Nicollet/Health Partners: Nate Chomilo

Building Connections: moms, babies and brain power

Did you know reading, talking and singing to your baby helps their brain grow and develop? Newborns quickly begin to recognize important sounds in their environment, such as their parents’ voices. As they grow, babies begin to recognize the sounds that form language, such as the way syllables, words, and sentences work. Join Dr. Nate Chomilo, a pediatrician at Park Nicollet, for a talk about the everyday things you can do that have a positive impact on your baby’s brain development.

Nate Chomilo, MD, is a general pediatrician (doctor for kids in the clinic) and a hospital internist (doctor for adults in the hospital). He is passionate about helping families raise healthy and successful children and being an advocate for children within our communities. Dr. Chomilo has a special interest in early childhood literacy (helping kids learn to love books) and health literacy in general. Outside of his position with Park Nicollet, he also serves as the Medical Director for Reach Out and Read MN, a non-profit organization that promotes early childhood literacy in pediatric exam rooms, and has been appointed to Governor Mark Dayton’s Early Learning Council. When he’s not working, Dr. Chomilo and his wife enjoy reading to their newborn son and are currently busy trying to sleep train him, and catch a few minutes of rest for themselves.

Nite & Day: Elizabeth Sarles

Gentle Sleep Coaching for Restful Nights and Happier Days

When we become parents, sleep gets a lot more important — for our little ones and for ourselves. But not every child is born a good sleeper. Even with all the Google searches, self-help books and well-meaning advice, many parents wonder if they’ll ever feel rested again. Certified Gentle sleep Coach Elizabeth Sarles, founder of Nite & Day, will guide you through gentle and effective sleep techniques to help lengthen your baby’s naps and nighttime – plus an overview of sleep coaching for infants that are developmentally ready.

Elizabeth Sarles is a Certified Gentle Sleep Coach and the owner of Nite & Day. She lives in Edina, Minnesota with her husband Lien, two little guys – Lien (4) and Harrison (2), and her first baby (and bed-hog), Eddie the Yorkie.
