Travel enthusiasts and culturally curious families should mark their calendars for five virtual international adventures. The 2021 season of Landmark Center’s Urban Expedition series has started a season of all virtual events. Urban Expedition is always free and features family friendly crafts, exhibits, music, dance and food.
“Urban Expedition comes to life by partnering with local organizations. Each season is a wonderful showcase of the diversity in the Twin Cities community,” said Judy Brooks, Community Programs Director. “As the pandemic continues and families are continuing to stay home, we hope the virtual events give them an afternoon of at-home adventures. It’s a fun way to have a global experience without even leaving the house.”
2021 Urban Expedition Schedule
January 24 – Serbia
February 7 – Ghana
March 7 – Spain
March 21 – Iran
April 11 – Laos
Each Urban Expedition highlights videos of music and dance, often including a language or dance lesson. The events also include cultural information and links to other resources, downloadable food recipes and craft templates to print out and make at home.
The virtual events take place on Landmark Center’s Urban Expedition webpage. They are also shared over on Landmark Center’s social media pages. Virtual Urban Expeditions are posted and accessible by 1 p.m. on each date. They remain available for one month. Urban Expedition: Serbia is available now through February 24.
All events are presented by Minnesota Landmarks / Landmark Center and are sponsored in part by Ecolab, Xcel Energy Foundation, RBC Wealth Management, Ramsey County, and Global Minnesota. For more information, click HERE.
