Summer will be here before we know it! Now is the time to find a summer camp your child can be part of during the summer months. The Twin Cities has a lot to offer your family, including academic camps, athletic camps, theater camps, special needs camps and so much more. We hope this guide helps you find the perfect place for your child to enjoy everything about summer vacation!

Be sure to check out the comprehensive list of a variety of camps that we love located at the bottom of this guide! For more recommendations on summer camps near you, ask your local neighborhood group – these groups are an excellent resource where you can get tips and advice from other local moms in your particular area.

We understand each family has a different comfort level in regards to public gatherings, even those that are allowed. We support each family’s individual choices and will continue to be sure you are aware of all opportunities in the metro area, especially those that allow for limited contact and digital offerings. The Loft’s Young Writers’ Program offers week-long (half- and full-day) creative writing classes. Classes are taught by professional and award-winning writers and are divided into age ranges of 6-8; 9-11; 12-14; 15-17. All abilities, interests, and genres welcome!

Tanadoona, a Camp Fire Minnesota camp, is an outdoor escape that’s just down the road. With 103 acres on Lake Minnewashta, campers unplug, connect to nature and have fun in nature-based activities like archery, high ropes, challenge courses in the woods, canoeing, outdoor cooking, garden to table cooking in our teaching kitchen, and much more. Summer camps include day, overnight, destination canoe trips, teen leadership, and family camp lead by local and international counselors. COVID-19 Update: The Works Museum is offering both virtual and in-person STEM camps this summer. In-person camps take place in small groups at the Museum with additional safety precautions.
